      Hi Linda,

I wonder if I could ask your advice, please.

I have just had a blood test done and ALT levels were elevated (still in the normal pathological range ) but a big jump. In Nov 2020 they were 19 u/L (and have consistently been around that level) however in Jan 2022 raised to – 41 u/L. Unfortunately, the GP did not request a full liver panel – it was only ALT and Bilirubin. The Bilirubin levels were fine.

I am trying to piece together why this might be and wondered if it could be linked to amalgam fillings. Due to having an autoimmune history, I have put off having amalgam fillings removed until I felt my body was ready, however, just after Christmas I had a large amalgam filling break and wondered if this might be the reason/cause of the elevated blood levels?

Other things I have fairly recently changed are adding in a powered mushroom complex which includes Reishi, Maitake & Shitake, a vitamin C supplement that includes Quercetin and rutin, zinc supplement, and green tea. I have also been on B vitamins for quite some time.

I already have a  good diet with lots of liver-loving foods, but will obviously increase these, plus add in supplements for liver support along with castor oil packs, but just wondered if you can offer any insight/advice.

      Thank you so much, Hayley

I’m sorry to hear this Hayley. As you know, naturopaths need to ask an awful lot of questions before we can suggest the most likely causes.

Eg. why are you having liver function tests? They are not offered by GPs unless there is a significant medical history. I don’t know what that is. What do you mean by a good diet? (What do you have for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks?) Do you use recreational drugs? Have you been vaccinated? Who makes your supplements? (Are they quality-controlled?) Is something upsetting your gut flora? Do you have any food intolerances?

Can you see why we have to build up a comprehensive picture before we can start to identify possible avenues to explore?

And even then, whatever we think is the most likely cause, if we start to take measures to combat it, we are only using an educated guess and you would have to keep repeating the enzyme tests until we hit on the right approach.

All that the tests show us is that your liver is not happy. Possibly it doesn’t like the mercury, but we don’t know if a break in your tooth would release enough mercury to significantly affect your liver.

I know this isn’t very helpful, but in a way it’s good for you to see why the diagnostic questionnaire helps us to pick our way through the maze, and if we don’t use it, we are just guessing. Even with the questionnaire we can only create a theory which has to be tested.

Would you like to upload your questionnaire? I have been looking at ways to allow it to be filled in online but that project isn’t ready yet.

Yes, please Linda I would really like to upload my questionnaire. Please let me know how I do that.

      Thank you,

      Hayley

Hi Hayley, we’ve just added the option of being able to upload files, so you can upload up to 2 pdfs of up to 1 MB each.

      Hi Hayley

An email is going out to everyone on Sunday but I wanted to reach out to you before that since you previously asked for advice.

Having been studying pandemic related stuff very hard over the last few weeks, I’m now suspicious that your symptoms may be due to graphene ingestion.

Apart from the jab, graphene is in swabs, handwash, and on face masks. Maybe other sources too. It is invisible nano-particles that are extremely sharp. If swallowed, they are not well absorbed but the medical literature does say that they elevate liver enzymes and can reduce proteins such as ferritin. Graphene is in the form of extremely sharp nano-particles so small cuts in your intestines could have caused your bleeding. I think you were right to refuse the invasive test. It would not have shown graphene because it’s too small.

My email on Sunday will explain more. The best way to get graphene out of your body is with a lot of antioxidants, but particularly N-acetyl cysteine to increase glutathione. I haven’t been able to find anything about getting it out of the digestive system, but my instinct is to use lots of psyllium gelled in water to lubricate your intestines and help drive out any particles.

I will write a whole article about self-protection as soon as I can.

      Hoping you are feeling better.
      Linda
