I know it’s a pain getting to know a new website! We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible by creating a Members Menu that you see as soon as you log in. Once you’re logged in, you can always return to it by clicking the link in the left-hand sidebar.

Most of the website is reference material. If you’re looking for something specific, try the site search box in the page footer. Hint: most of the site is member-only, so you need to be logged in when you search.

Have you seen the new post about cauliflower recipes in the recipes forum? Don’t forget to subscribe to that forum if you want to be notified when there’s a new recipe.

All the newsletters, interactions, new recipes, UK Health Updates and so on will be in the forums. Hoping to get things started, I’ve created a “Chat” topic. Just use the box on that page whenever you want to say something. Look towards the top right of that page and hit “Subscribe” to make sure you’re notified whenever someone adds a reply.

These are your forums, I’m here for you!

How are you getting on with the oat recipes? If you haven’t found the sorghum flour yet, some Amazon sellers are supplying it. A bag lasts quite a while, as you don’t need to add much to your bread mix. Here’s the page where I’ve listed everything I’ve bought from Amazon over the last year or two.

I like to make the stove-top flatbreads. I split them horizontally for breakfast and spread them with peanut butter or Naturli vegan butter and low-sugar peach jam. They are good the next day too, just pop pieces in the toaster. I’ve ordered 10-inch greaseproof paper rounds so I don’t have to keep cutting out circles of paper to make the flatbreads.

      Inflation: This week’s business tip

All the signs are pointing to inflation being a much bigger issue in 2022 than we are expecting. Basically, because people have been spending so much less money since the start of the pandemic, the economy dropped and had to be boosted by the Bank of England and the US Federal Reserve creating trillions of pounds or dollars. As people start spending again, these central banks will stop creating money, and by the laws of economics, inflation may reach figures that we haven’t seen since the 1970s.

Here’s the full explanation. The article is very long but explains in detail why inflation next year will be much, much higher than people are expecting. It will be a huge shock, since a whole generation has grown up in an environment of practically zero inflation – not counting house prices of course, which are a different matter.

      Be prepared

Inflation tends to bring strikes for higher pay. Mortgage interest payments will rise and possibly keep rising, and that will push up rents. Fuel, fares and postage will go up. Is there anything you want to buy or stockpile at today’s prices? I’m certainly going to stockpile a few supplements!

      Replies and comments welcome.
      Linda
